Nordification.com | Build | Production
Michel Foucault’s definitions of technologies include four distinct types. These four ways of doing technology inform Nordification.
This page is about the first one:
“1. Technologies of production, which permit us to produce, transform, or manipulate things.”
Production
When most people speak of tech, they may think of factories which produce millions of devices every year. Or software companies which coordinate the efforts of humans and machines to write billions of lines of code.
And surely this is the only way. What can Nordification add to it — or do differently to some purposeful and profitable end?
Maybe the software and hardware can only be made in one way (although even here, I’m inclined to query the presumption), but how we collect the datasets that accurately reflect what is needed, how we take decisions agnostically and not self-interestedly in respect of what technologies actually need to be chosen … here, we can use the instincts of Nordification to deliver an altogether differentiated experience for humans in their interactions with their machines.
